Eat in Sevilla

Tapas, sweets and Andalusian tradition

How to eat tapas in Seville

In Seville you eat standing up and move on: two tapas per bar, then the next counter. Local hours are 2–4 PM and 9–11:30 PM; in between, many kitchens close. Ordering at the bar is usually cheaper than at a table, and much faster.

The basic repertoire: spinach with chickpeas, pork cheek, fried fish, salmorejo in summer and montaditos at any hour, with a small beer or a cold manzanilla. The best value counters are in Triana and around the Alfalfa.
